wi river ice breakup

The ice is breaking up on the Wisconsin River – time to plan for summer paddling? Photo courtesy of Driftless Hills Photography

With the warm temps we’ve been having in the Midwest the Wisconsin River has responded by breaking up the ice and sending it down to the Mississippi River. The phone at WRO is ringing, emails are coming in and the website is starting to buzz with the excitement that spring and quickly summer will be here before we know it.  Cabin Fever symptoms are at their highest levels and people are ear to get outside and enjoy the Wisconsin River and all that it has to offer.

WRO is excited to get another season going! When we haven’t been trying to keep warm we’ve been working on make your paddle or float experience better than last year’s experience. We’ve had meetings, made changes to the site, attended seminars and conferences (with a couple more to go) and purchasing of new gear.

If you’ve never paddled with us before, take $10 off your first trip with us by clicking here and we’ll send you a coupon good for a discount on your first trip.  We’d love to see you when the water and weather warm, the sun is out and the sand is warm between your toes!
