 About Our Canoe Rentals

Rent one of our lightweight 16′ Wenonah canoes for half a day or up to 7 days paddling a section of the Lower Wisconsin River. With the river current rolling along at roughly 3 mph, it will take approximately 30 hours to paddle the entire 92 miles of the Lower Wisconsin River, should that be your goal. See more about the “hardest working river in the country” here.

Camp Along the Way on the Sand Bars

Camp on the sand bars in the center of the river along the way. No permits are needed. Glass, styrofoam and fireworks are strictly prohibited and there is a hefty fine for those who don’t adhere to the policy courtesy of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Please practice “Leave No Trace” ethics on the river.

You will not find better primitive camping within the Midwest! PERIOD!  You’ll be too spoiled to ever consider car camping again.

About our Canoes

We have worked very hard since 2003 to provide the best canoes available in the state of Wisconsin. We chose the manufacturer that provides the bulk of the canoes for the Boundary Waters and has been tested over time…Wenonah Canoe, made in the U.S.A. We’ve settled on the Adirondack model, 16′ long, quiet roylex construction, comfortable webbed seats and light weight. If you’ve never paddled a higher end canoe you will be surprised by what you’ve been missing. Everyday we have folks come off the water amazed at the difference a canoe can make for their paddle experience.

The Best Location: Boscobel, WI

If you are looking for:

  •  a quiet and remote stretch of river to paddle
  • fewer canoes and people on the river
  • generally, your own sand bar to camp on
  • at the end of your trip be able to paddle up to your vehicle on your own timeline and pack up and head home without a bus ride back up river (Land, Load, Leave)

Then Boscobel is the stretch of river you want to paddle on. Boscobel is located approximately 90 minutes west of Madison, WI.
