2 Day 1 Night Overnight Canoe Kayak Camping River Trips
You FOUND it! Welcome to sand bar camping on the Wisconsin River and the best river trips in the Midwest! Many of our first time customers start with an overnight canoe or kayak camping trip to get a taste for what could become a serious addiction – multi night (as many as 6 nights) camping adventures on the wide, shallow, sandy Wisconsin River. Below are our two day trip options.
To make your trip more comfortable and drier, we have several items you can add to your rental. These items can be added during checkout when paying for your canoe or kayak rental. Are you looking for comfort with the option to bundle ‘n save? Check out our comfort packages.
PRO TIP: If you’re skeptical about the distance, we recommend starting with a shorter trip – we’d rather you finish your trip wishing you’d done more rather than bite off more than you can handle and need to call us for an early pickup (will result in a fee).
Gotham to Boscobel,
23 miles/8 hrs
Shaving 2 hours off our Lone Rock trip, Gotham to Boscobel starts at the confluence of the Pine and Wisconsin Rivers – feel free to paddle up the Pine for a bit at the start of your trip. Staying river left provides a small river feel and tree shade for stretches. Limited departures based on dates.
Muscoda to Boscobel,
16 miles/5 hours
Our most popular 2 day trip! Depart from Victora Riverside Park and Campground in Muscoda and pull out just past the third bridge – simple! Many departure times available. An excellent “starter” trip if you’ve never canoe camped before. You’ll be back and wanting more!
Port Andrew/Blue River to Boscobel,
8 miles/3 hrs
For those who want incredible primative sand bar camping, but want as little paddling as possible (we’ve had folks do as many as 3 nights without moving). This is an OUTSTANDING option if you’re bringing small children, who’ll be too squirrly to be in a canoe for longer than 30 minutes at a time.
Boscobel to Woodman,
9 miles/3 hrs
If you want a short overnight trip and to see few to no other people, this is your best option. Pass under a railroad bridge and get a taste of what the last 30 miles of the Wisconsin River are like before it dumps into the Mississippi River. We have a morning and afternoon pickup in Woodman to bring you back to your car in Boscobel.
Boscobel to Millville,
17 miles/5 hrs
This trip is our Muscoda to Boscobel trip’s alter ego – roughly the same distance, but you’ll most likely have the river to yourself. There’s a morning and afternoon pickup (except some Saturday mornings) to bring you back to your car. If you’re looking for a 2 day total reboot, this is a great option.
Boscobel to Bridgeport,
23 miles/8 hrs
Again, on our most remote and quiet stretch of WI river, this trip is also available as a 3 day trip if you want to take your time and “milk” it. You can’t miss the takeout, there’s a giant bridge and the landing is right underneath it – no one has spotted the troll yet! As with all downriver trips, there is a morning and afternoon pickup to bring you, your gear and our boats back to your vehicle in Boscobel.
Boscobel to Wyalusing,
31 miles/10 hrs
If you’re going to do this trip in 2 days, and make the 2 PM pickup the next day, you’ll need to paddle AND get started before noon on day 1 – this is NOT a “float” trip if you want to do it in 2 days – you DON’T want to miss the pickup in Wyalusing. With that said, quiet, remote, have the river to yourself to soak up the Wisconsin & Mississippi River experience!
