4+ Day Overnight Canoe Kayak Camping River Trips

You can combine trips up and downriver from Boscobel together or by adding days to an existing rental and taking a very slow pace.  Please give us a call at 608.375.5300 and one of the Crew will help set up a custom trip for you.

Welcome to sand bar camping on the Wisconsin River and the best river trips in the Midwest! These longer trips are not for the faint of heart, but those who do them lose themselves and become one with the river. While there’s planning needed for these overnight canoe or kayak camping multiday trips the river gives back tenfold.  Come enjoy a multi night camping adventure on the wide, shallow, sandy Wisconsin River.

We have many add-on gear options to make your trip more comfortable and drier. These items can be added during checkout when paying for your canoe or kayak rental.

PRO TIP: Remember, these longer trips will have a fair amount of transport time either on the front end, back end…or both to cover these kinds of miles. Please plan accordingly.

Arena to Boscobel,

45 miles/15 hrs/4-5 days

This trip will expose you to the upper parts of the Lower Wisconsin River that are more of a prairie paddling experience. Once you paddle past Spring Green, 10 miles downriver, you’ll start to see the bluffs move closer to the river and the number of people dropoff significantly on weekends in July and August. While there is a 3 day version of this trip available, most folks will find 4 days to be a perfect trip – keep in mind the transport process is a bit time consuming.

Sauk City to Boscobel,

60 miles/20 hours/3-5 Days

Experience the prairie paddle experience of the upper portion of the Lower Wisconsin River as it becomes less traveled and the bluffs move closer to the river while you work your way downriver. Immerse yourself in the energy of the river as your work through the miles heading to Boscobel and back to your car. You’ll find that you surrender to the pace of the river as the days go by. While you’ll be looking forward to a shower, you won’t be sure that you’re ready for the trip to end.

Lone Rock to Wyalusing,

60 miles/20 hrs/3 – 5 days

We took our customers two favorite stretches of river for 3 day trips and turned it into one awesome 3 to 5 day trip (paddle hard and get it done in 3 days or take a more leisurely approach and take upto 5 – you’ll let us know your plan prior to putting on the water). You’ll paddle two thirds of the Lower Wisconsin River all the way down to the Mississippi River. If you’re a Scout group, consider ths trip to earn a 50 Miler Badge. What’s also nice, your paddle partners won’t need to wait nearly as long at the start of the trip for the transport process and there are more departure times than for the 90 mile Sauk to Wyalusing trip. At the end of your trip we’ll transport you and your gear back to Boscobel and your vehicle. Again, see our favorite stetches of the river during this trip!
