Paddling in late September and October isn’t for everyone…but I don’t know why. Whether it’s a day paddle and enjoying the cool days and amazing color change or an overnight trip with temps down into the 40’s making for GREAT sleeping weather and it really being worth having a campfire – I’ll take a late season paddle every time. Few, or no, bugs. Outstanding picture-taking light. Crystal clear skies for stargazing. The river to yourself.

If you haven’t done a late season paddle, you should put it on your list of things to do in the next year – with the right gear, you won’t regret it!
